The coin “The Golden India” from the "Magic of Gold" series minted by the Austrian Mint is dedicated to India and depicts the country's two main deities, Lakshmi and Krishna.
On the obverse of the coin, Lakshmi sits in a lotus flower surrounded by elephants. She holds lotus flowers in two of her four hands and with the other two she blesses the viewer and offers pieces of gold. Below her is the glyph निष्क, "Nishka", which means a small gold disk in Sanskrit.
The reverse of the coin depicts Krishna in a regal seated pose, surrounded by an ornamental band resembling peacock feathers.
"The Golden India" is the fifth coin in the "Magic of Gold" series.
